Who’s Frankenstein’s monster in the Geico commercial?

The 2024 Geico commercial saves a funny role for Trevor, Frankenstein’s monster’s cousin, and you already got in contact with that actor.

The new Geico commercial released in May 2024 is rapidly going viral: the star is the creature everybody identifies as Frankenstein’s monster, but the truth is that he’s his cousin, Trevor. It is a short situation that makes you smile, with an actor you may have never seen, but somehow already know.

The ad has been airing on American TV for a while now. You can watch it again below.

An angry crowd is exploring the dark roads around the village, looking for Frankenstein’s monster. Apparently, they find him: his car stopped, it ran out of battery, but the monster is calm, waiting for Geico to cover the issue without problems. That’s when all those people wonder if he’s really the evil creature they were looking for. It was actually his cousin, a nice guy who even gave them indications about where they could find the one they were looking for: did you try that spooky castle up the road?

The actor playing the monster in the 2024 Geico commercial is American voice actor Jason Liles. You don’t see him often on TV, but he’s specialized in voicing monsters and nonhuman creatures: he was the voice of George the gorilla in the 2018 movie Rampage and god Ryuk in the 2017 Netflix movie Death Note. Do you recognize his voice in the clip below?

For the monster in their new ad, Geico chose an expert on evil creatures. Jason Liles always wanted to be an actor, but he was too tall to fit the typical roles in movies or TV series. The role in this ad seems perfect for him: he’s big, scary, but ultimately kind to others. However, the character wouldn’t work so well if it wasn’t for his voice, right?
