New Games for People to Try Out in 2024

Gaming is growing at an astonishing rate, and that means that both spending and user engagement is on the rise around the world.

According to Statista, the global video game market revenue last year was $396.2 billion, and with 83.1% of internet users also playing video games, the market is there for all sorts of new games. It is estimated that the global gaming market will be worth $503.14 billion in 2025, almost doubling to $1065.12 billion by 2032.

These numbers sound immense, but it is the main reason we, as gamers, have so much choice in the games we get to play. Developers and publishers want us to buy and play their games so that they can get in on that market. 2024 is shaping up to be an excellent year for games, and you can be sure to see both brand new games and classics remastered, much the same as last year.

Below are some of the best new games for 2024 in various genres – bet you’ll find something that you fancy!

Big Bass Splash

Let’s take a shot at one of the newest slot games available at Rainbow Riches Casino. Big Bass Splash is set in a watery world, like the rest of the series by veteran game developer Pragmatic Play.

The game itself is simple and easy to learn, with a straightforward setup (five reels and three rows). There are 10 paylines.

Whilst you are spinning the reels and looking for the right combination of symbols to earn multipliers and bonuses, you’ll have a splendid view of the open ocean and can enjoy the jolly soundtrack.

Seasoned players will appreciate the high volatility of this game and the 94.60% RTP rate, as well as the progressive multipliers.

Tekken 8

Tekken is one of those games that stands the test of time, an arcade classic beat-em-up that has been effortlessly modernised in the latest instalment of the series.

In Tekken 8, the story mode takes place about six months after the events of the previous game and focuses on the confrontation between the two main characters. You will also be able to get some of the back story and narrative from 32 other characters – both old and new – that contributes to the main story.

This isn’t just a single player campaign game, of course. The online mode includes Arcade Quest as well as tournaments, and you will be able to battle as you choose with customisable avatars and in-game currency.

The graphics in this game are fabulous, and the mechanics have been developed using Unreal Engine 5, so you can expect something almost futuristic from this classic series.

Pacific Drive

If you like simulation games but wish they could have more horror games, then this title is made for you.

Essentially, there has been some sort of nuclear disaster, and you need to travel through the exclusion zone in a beat-up old station wagon. Reality is fractured and glitching, things go bump in the night, and there are all sorts of weird hazards that you need to protect yourself from.

However, your vehicle needs new parts – so you need to go and scavenge supplies. This means leaving the car and facing the eerie atmosphere that this game gives you.

It’s unpredictable, often frustrating – but strangely comforting to be locked in your trusty vehicle listening to the radio as you drive.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden

If you like story-driven games that are essentially a gothic romance, then you’ll love this foray into the world of the Banishers. You are playing as a pair of exorcists that are sent to deal with ghosts in New Eden, only to have to deal with the death of your wife and the decision to either exorcise her – or potentially resurrect her.

It’s a slow paced, considered RPG where decisions are made in real time; there are lasting consequences for everything you do in this beautifully rendered, atmospheric story.

It’s spooky and there are some jump scares, but it’s not really a horror – just a game that explores some tough questions about morality, life after death, and the power of love.

Palworld

We can’t make a list of new games without talking about Palworld – the game that has become a viral hit, selling 8 million copies in just 6 days despite not even being completely finished yet. Early access aside, this game has hit the headlines for the way it has been influenced.

This game is a survival game, but instead of scary zombies you are surrounded by cute Pals, which are like Pokémon. The game takes notes from popular titles like Fortnite and Zelda but offers a cute and cuddly multiplayer experience that is light-hearted and definitely best enjoyed with a group of friends.
