Part of the Game, Power Book III: Raising Kanan theme song: the lyrics and their meaning

Power Book III: Raising Kanan theme song is Part of the Game, by 50 Cent, NLE Choppa & Rileyy Lanez. You can find the official video of the track below.

Extended Version | 50 Cent feat. NLE Choppa & Rileyy Lanez - "Part of the Game" | Video

The track was written and released by the rappers for the TV show, and since then, it has become trendy. Part of the Game is about life in the ghetto, immersed in the criminality that rules the streets. The rappers try to teach an essential lesson to everybody involved in that lifestyle: try to make money safely, stay out of the most dangerous fights and protect what you have. The chorus explains how hard that life is:

I know heartbreaks, setbacks
B* *h, if I crap out, I’m sure I’ma get back
I been through the ups and downs, you know I get around
So to me, it’s all a part of the game (Ah, ah, yeah)
If I ain’t the coke man, or the dope man
I’m almost for sure man, I gotta take it
No need to say s**t, I’m gon’ take it (Yeah, yeah)
Robberies turned homicide, it’s nothin’ to play with

Typically people enter that life only for money, so that’s the message conveyed by the song: focus only on that, and never risk too much. As soon as you can get out of that life, do it. Because things can go south pretty quickly.

Below you can find some of the most meaningful lines of the song:

Make money, make-make, make money
When shit hit the fan, we’ll take money, South sidе
Beef with the best of ’em, donе shot at the rest of ’em (Yeah)

It’s all a part of the game, you gotta play your cards right
Don’t get caught without the pipe all night, lurkin’ on sight
Never go without a fight, win or lose, or wrong or right
Protect your life ’cause I’ll Deebo it like you was just a bike

More money, more problems, got me feelin’ like I’m Diddy, boy
