Stayin’ Alive: the trailer & opening song of Bullet Train

Posted by

Bullet Train was out in the American theatres on August 5, 2022. Besides watching Brad Pitt in his latest action role, people definitely enjoyed the soundtrack, composed mainly of Japanese music (the movie is based on a Japanese novel by Kotaro Isaka). Still, the song that stands out is the one you hear in the movie opening (and also in the movie trailer), the cover of a well-known track of the Western culture: Bee Gees’ Stayin Alive, one of the evergreen hymns of disco music, in a new, fancy version. Let’s discover it.

You can find Bullet Train‘s official movie trailer here on Youtube.

Stayin’ Alive: what’s the song in the Bullet Train trailer & opening scene?

The song in the trailer and the opening of the movie Bullet Train is Stayin’ Alive, in the cover version by the Japanese singer Avu-chan. You can find the track below.

Stayin' Alive

Avu-chan is the founder and lead vocalist of the Japanese band Queen Bee, active since 2009. The singer is not new to collaborations with movie and series soundtracks: in the past, her music ended up on the soundtrack of the series Spooky Romantics and the 20th Anniversary Memorial Tribute of Sailor Moon.

Her version of Stayin Alive is very similar to the original one by Bee Gees, but the words are frequently reworded in Japanese.

The song does an excellent job introducing the movie’s action in a fluid style that mixes classic dance moves and Japanese elegance.
