Touch Tank: the lyrics and their meaning

Touch Tank is a song about a pleasant relationship Quinnie has with a boy she likes, especially on the sexual point of view. She introduces many metaphors that refer to the many ways they enjoy having sex, and she confirms that this relationship gives her so many good sensations that she often prefers to enjoy it and dedicate time to it instead of doing other things.

The Touch Tank is a pool like the one we can see on the video, where people is able to touch dolphins or other animals swimming in the pool. But in the song, the allusion could be different and refer to a private plac where Quinnie and his guy spend their private time touching each other: the use of the two fingers is meaningful, and the description of the touch tank appears in the lyrics when also Quinnie talks about getting “splashed in the face”, another clear sexual allusion.

Such a short drive to get to the touch tank to you
Deep sea pearl, my soft manta ray (Manta ray)
Tender two fingers that touch the display
I used to dive deep ’til I got splashed in the face

Under a soft, romantic atmosphere given by the melody, therefore, Quinnie is actually talking about all the sexual activities she has with her boyfriend. And the way she likes it, all the way he’s so good at it. The way she describes what they do in the chorus is romantic and exciting at the same time.

‘Cause he’s so pretty when he goes down on me
Gold-skinned eager baby, blue shirt out the laundry
He tells me he’s gentle when he wants to be
So I think he wants to be gentle with me

There is therefore a deeper meaning inside Touch Tank lyrics: it’s a romantic song that talks about the strong connection Quinnie has with the guy she likes, but above all she sings her love towards the sex they have together. And the relationship they have is so nice that she wishes they could enjoy it together forever.

Canceled the hot hipster threesome for you
‘Cause I preach a freedom, but you’re a f***ing great excuse
Plus I’d rather get naked and swim in your blow-up pool
And dry our dolphin bodies off and question your tattoos

‘Cause he’s so pretty when he goes down on me
Gold-skinned eager baby, blue shirt out the laundry
He tells me he’s gentle when he wants to be
So I think he wants to be gentle with me

Such a short drive to get to the touch tank to you
Deep sea pearl, my soft manta ray (Manta ray)
Tender two fingers that touch the display
I used to dive deep ’til I got splashed in the face

He’s so pretty when he goes down on me
Gold-skinned eager baby, blue shirt out the laundry
He tells me he’s gentle when he wants to be
So I think he wants to be gentle with me

You took my breath away
So now I can’t suck in my stomach around you anymore
We’re too old to live with our parents
Do you wanna wake up to me every morning?
Every morning
Every morning
I’m swimming into you
I’ll tumble to the ocean in a parachute
I am swimming into you
I’ll tumble to the ocean

He’s so pretty when he goes down on me
Gold-skinned eager baby, blue shirt out the laundry
He tells me he’s gentle when he wants to be
So I think he wants to be gentle with me
