Bayraktar, the Ukrainian resistance song: lyrics and meaning

It was commissioned by the official armed forces of Ukraine in the aftermath of the Russian invasion, carried out by soldier Taras Borovok. A song with a military rhythm and very critical lyrics, which attack the Russian army and the invasion in its entirety. The title, Bayraktar, is a reference to the Bayraktar TB2 drone, the aircraft made in Turkey that performs attacks through remote piloting. According to the Ukrainian narrative, this drone played an important role in slowing the Russian attack.

The song was previously uploaded to Youtube and then removed, after gaining thousands of views. It is often sung in protest demonstrations and on Ukrainian radios. The original lyrics are in Ukrainian but the song has already been translated into English. You can find the translation below.

The invaders came to us in Ukraine
The uniform’s new, military chain
But their inventory melted in part
Bayraktar
Bayraktar

Russian tankmen hid in the bushes
To sip the f**king shchi with their bast shoes
But the soup’s fat got overheated in part
Bayraktar
Bayraktar

Sheep came to us from the east
To “reestablish a great state”
But best shepherds of sheep flocks are
Bayraktar
Bayraktar

Their arguments, different hardware step in
Powerful hardware and rockets step in
We have a comment to all of the above
Bayraktar
Bayraktar

They wanted to invade us with force
And we took offense at these orcs
Russian bandits are made into ghosts by
Bayraktar
Bayraktar

Russian police are starting the cases
Against the killer of ruscists, no traces
And who do they blame from afar?
Bayraktar
Bayraktar

The Kremlin scumbag propagandizes
People believe the words likewise
Now their tsar knows a new star
