Scarlett Johansson & The Smashing Pumpkins: a video-tribute to true beauty

Posted by

A fan’s passion for a band, coupled with a certain amount of creativity and inventiveness, can inspire excellent ideas and let you go viral. Some years ago, it happened to Youtube user MerseYattle, who posted on his channel a video with the fascinating actress Scarlett Johansson as protagonist (presented in a long series of suggestive black-and-white shots) and Bleed, The Smashing Pumpkins song which never appeared on an official album. Stream it below.

The creator of the video described it in this way:

“The images come from an old photo shooting; then someone made an animated GIF out of it, which I properly edited adapting it to the music. I added the photos in random order, with different speed, I deleted parts, I added effects etc. etc. (…) Surely you can find the GIF, it’s quite famous, but be prepared to see a different experience. In fact, the editing part was quite big.”

A demanding job whose result is actually surprising, with many people now believing that it is the official video of the song (earning almost 7 million views since it is online). A great satisfaction for MerseYattle and a joy to our eyes.

Here the lyrics of the song, to complete the picture:

It’s all I wanted
It’s all I could see
You can watch me bleed…
Daylight comes and washes over me…

Take what you have wanted
This is not your cross to bear
And the someone beside you
What they want is in what they see…
Feeling it in you heart
Was more than I could see

It’s all I wanted
It’s all I could see
And the something inside you
Daylight comes and washes over me…

Feeling it in you heart
Was more than I could see
Feeling it in your heart
Was more than I could see

One and two is three.
