Posted by La popolarità di TikTok in aumento in questi anni lo sta rendendo uno dei mezzi principali per scoprire nuove canzoni, magari di vecchia data, che stimolano la curiosità quando diventano la colonna sonora dei nuovi trend. Come già successo per Infinity qualche mese fa, da qualche giorno è partito un nuovo trend che riprende una canzone hip hop del 1997, dal ritornello particolarmente orecchiabile. Il trend si diffonde sotto le parole chiave Boogie Woogie Poo, o con il verso “Was It The Boogeyman” ripetuto nel ritornello. Il primo video a far partire il trend è stato questo.
La canzone originale si chiama Boogie Woogie Wu e loro sono gli Insane Clown Posse, duo statunitense nato nel 1987 e ancora attivo, con molti album alle spalle e una passione per i temi horror. Questa la canzone originale completa.
Il testo e il significato della canzone
La canzone descrive una situazione che può essere tipica di un film horror o una storia di Halloween, generando la paura che la notte, quando le luci vengono spente, può saltare fuori da sotto il letto il Boogeyman, l’uomo nero, e ucciderti. Il ritmo è cupo e tenebroso e la canzone può probabilmente fare un certo effetto con la giusta atmosfera. Certi versi sono particolarmente cruenti: “Ti addormenti e ti svegli morto / con una scopa spezzata che ti esce dalla fronte” fa una certa impressione, come anche il poliziotto che ti sfila l’ascia dalla testa e chiede: “è stato il boogeyman?” (questa è la parte ripresa dai video su TikTok). Il significato autentico della canzone dunque risiede nel mettere paura. Come un film horror.
